Along with worthy experience I have been fortunately had during my study abroad in the Netherlands, I soon realized the time I had been living in the international housing at Saxion is one of the best chapter in my student’s life. I need not to care about how to rent a room, how complicated a renting procedure could be, especially scammers!!! Recently, I had been targeted by a scammer, whose name is Oostdam Tobias Gerardus Johannes ( email: email@example.com, skype: tbs.Johannes007, Iban: GB06LOYD30998838518468, Bank bic: LOYDGB21, telephone: +447031990675). The police have been investigating this case. Plus, another who is called Kunt Nina Michaela with email firstname.lastname@example.org also contacted me. Hilariously her name is recorded on the scammer website where you can check if he/she is a scammer. Usually scammers, they all come up with similar stories which are the reasons why they have to rent out their room or house. So I hope you will be highly aware of that, otherwise it is extremely bitter with this pricy experience.
It is just truly as its name- International Housing, where you immerse yourself in the different culture from every corner of the world. Plus it is more than usual the case that you have chance to speak English all the time. Your dinner could be authentically international meal, frequently every flat-mate would cook his/her country’s meal. The excellently kind housing manager- Mr. Ben, who people at the housing would be accustomed to. He also usually tries to mix all the internationals together in a flat. I was glad to had lived with four other individuals who come from Belarus, Indonesia, Oman and Russia respectively. It seemed like although you are living abroad and of course far away from your beloved family and home country, you are still able to feel the protected environment in the international housing.
Particularly, an accidental recognition has just come to me, which makes me realise I have fallen in love with Deventer, an adorably small and charmingly antique city I had dwelled in 2 years. I am happened to be proud of the annually unique events: Intellectual as Book Market (the largest book market in Europe), emblematic as Deventer Opstelten, classically appealing as Dickens festival, which can be your timeless surprise about how flexibly pretty this city could turn up. Deventer has become my second hometown, where most of my student’s memories had been occurring with ups and downs as well as it truly brought to me safety and peace, fun international student’s party.
Moreover, I have learned how to be sufficiently adaptive in a new environment as well as how to live under the same roof with other human beings besides family. Also be aware of what the Dutch called” huisregels” (house-rules ;p). Additionally, I resonate that flat-mates- relationship is crucial because it is a number of human beings who are happened to inhibit together in a definite period of their life. Of course, there will be some certain moments of either happiness or downtime, which needs to be shared and obviously house-mates somehow would be one of the first persons you are sharing.
Speaking of which, having been growing up regarding adapting to varied flats or houses, I perceived that renting a room abroad is not merely a matter of renting a place to sleep at night, yet it is a place where you spend some amount of your lifetime with the supposed- to-be-called “extendible family members”. Thus, I guessed you will know how to cherish it ;). Thanks God, at this moment I have been in another exhilarating chapter of my life with super cool housemates in the South of this below-the-sea-level land.
